Top story at I didn't know that they'd been folded-into
CMGion, I've not been following CMGI closely. I couldn't get a connection
for their update Webcast last night. I wonder if this was covered?

In April 2000, TribalVoice and iCast formed IMUnified, a coalition to develop standards for instant messaging. With AOL blocking other messaging software from communicating with its 90 million users, AT&T, MSN, Yahoo and Prodigy joined, as well. In the same month, Bagully testified at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) hearing on the AOL-Time Warner merger. He urged the FCC to look at opening communication between instant messaging applications.

In September, CMGion, a CMGI company, acquired TribalVoice. Then in November 2000, CMGI layed off Springs workers, leaving only a skeleton crew in the offices on Campus Drive. They closed both TribalVoice and iCast, stating "the technology is not an integral part of CMGion's mission."
