Microsoft naming trivia, was: XP

A person from Microsoft noted the following via email:

In Greek, X is chi and P is rho. Put them together: chi-rho -> Cairo.

For those who don't recall, Cairo was the big distributed OS project that
never saw the light of day. Some of its technologies came out in IIS, index
server, active directory, NTFS II, DCOM, and so on.

Naming trivia, like how Windows NT (WNT) was one letter away from VMS... (or
HAL and IBM). Just goes to show how many patterns there are in the world.

No, it's not the XML protocol, it stands
for "Microsoft Experience".
