Relax and take a deep breath.

It will still be possible to encode high-quality MP3s,
just with third-party software.

Microsoft has just biased their own included tools
toward creating their formats. Understandable decision,
nothing outrageous about it. (If they intentionall made
well-encoded MP3s sound bad, that'd be slightly
outrageous. But that's not the charge.)

If they did include top-quality MP3 encoding, some
people might find that worthy of complaint, too.
"Unfair bundling of the latest features to undermine

MP3 will survive, and probably thrive, regardless
of what Microsoft does.
