The bad planning/deregulation is only half the story. The other half of
the story is the power suppliers taking advantage of it. They'll find ways
to take advantage of the other states as well -- it's just too lucrative
for them to be able to resist. Already they are foreshadowing it in
national coverage of the California crisis -- that is, that it will spread
to other states. I hope you'll have better luck stopping it early than we
