I am considering buying a PDA as a gift for someone. This
person currently does not have a PDA, but is pretty heavily
into online activity (eBay, chat, et cetera). I do not wish
to get something so belling and whistly that the extra expense
would go to unused feature. The old Palm III or WorkPad would
be great -- except they do not appear to be available new
any more.

So what is the low-end unit on PDAs these days for the
non-power-user?
