It has come to my attention that some English-speaking types use the spelling
"petty-bourgeois" rather than "petit-bourgeois", as I had thought the term
spelled. That I should be unaware of this usage is quite understandable; I
haven't felt it necessary yet to read Lenin's writings, either in (strange!)
translation, or in the original Aramaic. Hi-Ho-A-Folio, A-Trotsky we will go.

The preference for the "petty" spelling seems to me to run the ragged edge of
suave Eurodisdain, since it looks rather too honestly a slap at tiny-brained
capitalism. I thought they preferred a veneer of subtlety with their
demonization of the free.

So bourgeois it hurts, I return you to your regularly scheduled petit
flamewars.

Cheers,
Wayne

message is clear and concise: Go to hell! It's as simple as that.
