If you've been scratching your head lately wondering what to do about your
next career move, one of ZOT Group's clients, Aeneid Corporation, may have
just the job you're looking for.
Aene-what? As in Aeneas, the hero of Virgil's epic The Aeneid. Context at
Where they're at. Aeneid Inc. is a high-tech startup company based in San
Francisco. Its founders are industry veterans with a proven track record of
creating highly successful software companies. Roots in Borland, Novell,
Symantec, NetManage and AutoDesk. VP of R&D [to whom these positions report
to] is absolutely fantastic and a UCI alum to boot.
What do they do? In a nutshell, Aeneid's technology acts as an Internet
information broker enabling vertical portals to match customers to the right
content. Pretty cool stuff.
What they're looking for:
a. Director of Product Management. The Director of Product Management will
have responsibility for product lifecycle management of Aeneid products,
services, and content. This will include but are not limited to directing
the creation of detailed marketing requirements, product plans, marketing
plans, budgets, revenues, and directing product managers. The Director of
Product Management has responsibility for defining, creating or providing
input to the creation of any sales tools or collateral such as data sheets,
competitive analysis, white papers, sales training and presentations related
to Aeneid's products and services. The Director of Product Management is
responsible for the developing Aeneid's product roadmap to meet customers'
needs and fulfill the company's goals and objectives.
Requirements: 7 Years Experience in software product management 2 years as a
director; BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering; Internet experienced and
savvy; Highly-motivated and self-starting; Senior presence and reputation;
b. Manager, Software Development. The Software Development Manager will
manage the engineering team and will provide technical leadership for the
architecture, analysis, design and implementation of all products. Reports
directly to the Vice President of R&D.
Requirements: Education - BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related
technical discipline; Technical Experience - Qualifications should include a
minimum of 8 years software development experience. The incumbent must have
experience running development teams and have hands on experience with
Microsoft VC++, Java, ActiveX, distributed network architecture,
object-oriented databases and relational databases. A solid understanding of
object-oriented development techniques is essential. The individual must be
a hands-on leader able to run a team of up to 10 engineers with a strong
understanding of commercial software design and development practices.
c. Software Architect/Technology Guru. Same technical areas as manager, but
no management responsibilities.
