I've seen this particular brand of bullshit a few times, so presumably
a current meme in the USofA is that Europe is somehow envious or that
the European man-in-the-street even cares in the least about the US
economy. Reality check: it ain't so. Few people bother to draw
comparisons and when they do they are more likely to use
quality-of-life criteria than stock prices or whatever the en vogue
statistic is today.
