A couple have to do with fast rendering of characters (Apple) and
the rest have to do with stuff which is now part of mozilla (and hence
available under MPL).

I think the Semantic Web is important and RDF is the foundation of
that. I am interested in it and thats all there is to say about it!

RSS is trying to be an open standard. The whole point about open
standards is that nobody owns it. Who owns XML? Who owns
HTML? RSS is not like the GIF standard where someone
"owns" it. RSS is open and free. Anyone can do anything they
want to do with it.
