What sort of reaction do you think this would cause if
Sony did this? People are saying world of shit, but I
don't think they'll get more than a few shrugs.

Here's an interesting quote from Sony Senior VP Steve Heckler
(http://www.uwiretoday.com/computing081700001.html):

"Sony is going to take aggressive steps to stop this," Heckler told the Summer Forty-Niner. "We will develop
technology that transcends the individual user. We will firewall Napster at source -- we will block it at your
cable company, we will block it at your phone company, we will block it at your [Internet-service provider].
We will firewall it at your PC.

Is it just me or does this sound a lot like another famous leader:

"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas
and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strenght in the air, we shall defend our
island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we
shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"
- Winston Churchill (Speech to the House of Commons, June 4, 1940)
