In the context of 'filtering the web' - there was
a site - www.censorware.org which used to post daily
estimates on the size of the web... But now says that
it is down for 'remodeling...'
One bit that I remember is that - everyday 3 - 4
million pages were addedto the web as per this site! But I
dont know how the docs and pages lurking in the
servers but not directly 'visible' to indexers/spiders are
being accounted for - say db backed websites...
The figure of 550bn could be correct - but may be that
549bn pages are 'under construction!'
