This reminds me of Mark V. Shaney, a net.personality of the mid-80's.
One often got a good overview of the topics of ongoing threads in a
group by reading his postings.

I'd been tempted to ask him to check out FoRK; however, his method
of adding new bits to old might be a bit too literal for Mr. Rifkin.
