Folks on this list who like historical curiosities might want to take a
look at http://www.ai.mit.edu/people/rst/turing.pdf --- it's a reformatted
version of one of the earliest computer manuals, Alan Turing's programmer's
handbook for the Manchester Mark I. Also, with an appendix describing the
prototype machine, which was in its original form the first operating
computer... and notes and commentary by some other guy.
