Sammy Hagar was on Foxnews Monday talking about how his 3 Cabo Wabo
tequilas recently won 3 gold medals as the best tequilas "in the world". He
said that he had 50 gold albums on his walls, but this was his one accomplishment
that he was more proud of than anything else. He's got a reposado, anejo, and
one that I can only describe as a tequila noveau as it's never been barrel aged.
He said he discovered the recipe whilst perusing the Tequila boutiques in Tequila, Mexico.
As someone who's perused these very same premises, I would have to say that I am
very discriminating, so I'd be surprised if it is really as good as he claims. Also
as someone who used to surf all the time in Cabo before
Van Halen used to hog up the runways with their absolutely awesome gulfstream and
their party central nightclub, I am glad to see that it's changed from a headbanger
parter bar to a mezcal bar to a fine, upper class tequila tasting bar.
