Dear Rohit,

We regret to tell you that your paper submission

274: TRUST MANAGEMENT ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB

has not been accepted for publication as a full paper at the 7th
International World Wide Web conference. Because of the very large
number of excellent submissions, we are unable to accept all of the papers
that merit publication.

However, the Programme Committee felt that your work was of a high
quality and we would like to offer you the opportunity to present a short
version of your paper at the conference, in the Posters Session. The short
paper would be published in the conference proceedings.

We would need you to revise your original paper submission into a short
paper. This involves cutting back your original paper submission to no
more than two pages. It also should take into account the reviewers'
comments (as far as possible within the page limits) and the publisher's
format requirements. This may entail writing your short paper as an
extended abstract with links to longer publications, however you will be
able to give much more information on your work during the poster-style
presentation. We will be sending out reviewer comments by Monday 19th
of January, and the short paper format requirements directly after that.

We are sending out early result notifications because we need to bring
forward the closing date for final versions of short papers to the 15th of
February. If you accept our offer, we must have your final short paper by
this date for it to be included in the conference proceedings. Please note
that your short paper, including graphics, will need to fit within two
pages
in the final publication.

You will also need to have registered for the conference by 27th February
for your short paper to be scheduled and to appear in the proceedings. As
an author, you would be able to register at the Early Bird rate.

What we need from you at this point is to notify us whether you wish to
present your submission as a short paper at the conference and that you
can meet the revision and format specifications by the final short paper
submission deadline.

NOTE: Please email the Programme Chairs at PCchairs@www7.conf.au
by JANUARY 19th, 1998 with this notification.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,
Helen Ashman and Paul Thistlewaite
