The Palo Verde <http://www.housing.uci.edu/gfh/PV/pvhome.html> (home to
several FoRK'ees) parking lots were cleverly designed to have exactly the
same number of slots as tennants, a subset of which are marked handicapped,
plus about 30 visitor slots. For a total of 200 apartments. Since it
is nigh impossible to live around here without a car, and quite a few
grad student "families" actually contain more cars than official tennants,
the result is that all of the spaces are filled on weekday nights if the
garages are not being used to hold actual cars. Life sucks when there
is no other legal parking within a mile of the apartments.

So, periodically the PV staff go around and abuse people who aren't
using the garage as a parking space, and tow anything that looks like
it has been in one place too long. Since there are only a few garages
per building (assigned by seniority, one per apartment), Rohit would
be screaming like a stuck pig if they took his away.
