Over here, there are no problems with wild animals. Once upon a time
instead of thinking "oh no, we better protect these furry beings in
the interest of biodiversity", guys said "them fucking bears are a
danger to our wives and children, so let's kill them" and did so.

Cave bears?
All killed x '000s of years ago.
Brown bears?
A dozen left down in the Pyrenees.
Lions?
All killed about 2000 years ago.
Wolves?
All gone.
Panthers, elephants, rhinos,...
Extinct long ago.

We don't seem to be suffering due to "lack of respect for nature",
au contraire.
