This article is right on the money - thanks for posting it, Adamo.
I attended a seminar Tuesday with RS associate publisher Jeff Ahl, and i
asked him the chicken and the egg question - does advertising ever affect
editorial content? The first words out of his mouth were "No. Absolutely
not." Then after a little prodding and a few examples (snowboarding
articles, fashion spreads) he reached this conclusion - "The only magazine
left with editorial integrity is National Geographic."
