Bay Area drivers are not California drivers. They'd get shot if they
ever drove the freeways in the rest of the state. This is only somewhat
compensated by the extra idiot tax placed on gas in the Bay Area.
I twice encountered complete deadlock at the freeway terminus in China Basin
because the fool drivers up front hadn't learned how to alternate cars
while merging lanes.

I lived in SF for a year and will never move back. Seattle is just
a suburb of SF. Portland is paradise in comparison to both, but only
if you really really love rain before you get there. I'd trade ten
perfectly sunny Laguna Beach days for an afternoon sun-break in Portland,
which makes them about even on the niceness scale.

give a rat's ass whether it matches anyone else's, so there.]
