I don't have any problem with that notion, but that's not what we're
talking about here. We're talking about "pay to get paid." I may have
an imperfect understanding of the law surrounding SSI, but as far as I
can tell there is no way to opt out of it without either (a) choosing
not to do something that generates income, or (b) generating legal
exposure (at the very least, expenses) for yourself. It's the threat of
(b) that constitutes coercion.
