ST. PAUL, Minn. (Reuters) - Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura is to put the
dignity of public office aside for at least one night to revert to his
former identity as a pro wrestler.

The World Wrestling Federation said Monday Ventura, in his role as ``The
Body'', has agreed to return to the wrestling ring for an Aug. 22
pay-per-view extravaganza dubbed SummerSlam.

``It'll be great to welcome Jesse back. This event promises to be the most
tremendous SummerSlam of this millennium,'' said the wrestling group's
chairman Vince McMahon.

The governor's office confirmed that the 6-foot 4-inch 250-pound Ventura,
who took office in January and who turns 48 Thursday, will take part.

Among his previous ventures, Ventura was a loud-mouthed professional
wrestler for six years in the 1980s, when he wore outlandish costumes
often accessorized with a feather boa.
