I find it fascinating. I am well in the camp of "if you get my meaning we
have had a communication". The detailed retentive school of speaking in
proper modulations (the infamous BBC voice come s to mind) is great for
party trickery and sideshow fun. Predicating ANY meaning to the so called
Proper Modes Of Language seems to me to cut off large chunks of expressive
behavoirs.

Lest we not forget, we are not so much a species of precission as we are
of adaptablity. Languages shift and one might draw the conclusions that as
our medias shifts gears in ever decreasing intervals we must either learn
to be flexiable or perish to a pit of secluded 3l3+!5/\/\z
