OK, so apparently 3% of FoRKers are running the ECDL code but the 97 %
are either too lazy to run it, or don't want to because I'm such an
obnoxious idiot, or else they don't have computers. (NB: there are
ports to WinNT, Win98, MacOS... just ask).

However certainly many FoRKers have their fingers in some
large-audience pies, in the form of newsletters, mailing-lists etc.

So why not contribute to the effort without running a cycle of code,
by writing a snippet about the project, or by plugging the following URL:

http://pauillac.inria.fr/~harley/ecdl6/readMe.html

at every possible occasion. Well maybe not quite that much but a
little bit anyway. Get the scoop before everyone starts talking about it!

Actually http://www.alphalinux.org/ got the scoop and mentions the
project as its top news item, but there's still time to be with it if
you hurry! =:-)

Consider an experiment in Internet age communication: if this meme
is injected into enough hosts will it end up infecting SlashDot?

Come on guys. The programming and organisation were easy: it's
getting a few minutes of people's time that's hard. This is a really
big project and it's not going to happen without a lot of help and
goodwill.

My next tactic will be to get down on my knees and beg you all, which
would be a sorry sight (stop rubbing your hands in glee, Joe).

Rob.
