Perhaps this is an upstate NY sort of thing. I know here at Cornell
they're everywhere. Though, what I've noticed is they seem to be
especially prevalent among women in sororities. I used to live next to a
sorority house and realized very quickly that in the parking lot 80% of the
vehicles were SUVs. They are most certainly the "Daddy bought 'em so they
could be safe in the scary winter storms" type of vehicles.

Yes, but driving an '84 Mazda 626 that makes funny noises, I was certainly
quite aware whenever I ended up in a parking lot, or along a street, full
of 'em.

Did I mention that I'm happy as anything that I'm leaving upstate NY for
good in the next week?
