I played with the new Real product. And while it seems to do many things
well it has the gestalt of Ra on it. Ads will crop up, the layout is goofy
to my eye, and in short that it is tied to RA makes me want not to use
it. Yes xing is the engine, and tes it is a great little toold for both
ras and mp3s, but it still feels unworkable for me. There is no chance of
using it to capture streams ala winamp 2.09 and xfile get, there is every
possibility the control panel will be flodded with ads and channel
placement , and for ripping im still enamored with the rippers i use; that
being Audio catalyst(xings last non ra work) and the Fraunhofler codecs
with the radium hacks. (Somewhere is a special place for the Radium crew,
the hiers to the legacy whos lore include The Humble Guys, AppleJack,
ByteBuckets and the often mentioned Phantom Access software crew)
So while I have it on my system , I will nto be using it that much.
