B&N + Ingram xxx

According to a front-page article in (today's?) Investor's Business
Daily, Barnes and Noble withdrew their offer to buy Ingram on
1999-06-02, under FTC pressure. My interpretation: amazon.com won't
die this year, and my local booksellers will still be able to compete
with B&N, at least as well as they ever have.
