Guess Egghead shoulda kept a few stores open afterall :)

Personal computer retailer Egghead.com said today
that it lost $35 million, or $1.51 per share, during
the fourth quarter, following a restructuring that
"significantly affected" its results.

The loss, which includes a $37.6 million charge for
the previously announced
closure of all of its retail
stores, compared to a net
loss of $35.9 million, or
$2.04 per share, for the
year-ago period.

Excluding charges and other income, the company
had a loss of $6.8 million from continuing
operations for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1998.
Consolidated net sales fell 16 percent, to $74.5
million, from $88.9 million last year.
