An Ohio woman described by police as an Internet addict was placed on
two years probation Tuesday for neglecting her three small children
while spending several hours a day on her home computer. Police said
Sandra Hacker, 24, kept her three children in deplorably filthy
conditions in a separate room of her apartment, while devoting her
time to the Internet. Cincinnati Judge William also fined Hacker $100
and court costs and suspended a 180-day jail sentence on condition
