Bert, how 'bout a "Predefined color-like tokens" draft? :-)
You could mark it up in NetscapeHTML so everyone knows *exactly* which shades
to use...

It's just like some poker game: "I'll see your ten and raise ya -- A HUNDRED
and THIRTY! Wanna fold, boy-o?"
