In a perfect world, should it really cost me $32 to send

"CAMBRIDGE, Kendall, 3 lg rms, 1ba, shrd kit. 4/26-8/30. $670+utils. 491 5030"

to the few hundred-thousand-odd readers of the Boston Sunday Globe?

Well, at least they run a good housing search engine, so I get a permanent
web ad in the bargain, too.

I'd rather have the Web version decompress it, at least!

"Cambridge, Kendall Square, near MIT
3 large rooms, full bath, shared kitchen
Available April 26 - August 30.
$670 + gas, electric
Please call 617 491 5030
No agents"

After all, that what I explained to the telesales operator.

Or, even better:

Summer Sublet available near MIT. First floor of a house: 1BR, Study,
LR, full bath, pantry + 1/2 basement, kitchen, laundry. Available
immediately until August 30 with potential to renew. Seeking quiet,
security-conscious housemate. Furnishings avail: sofa, bed, A/C, etc.

If there's true mockery in the world, Alta Vista will slurp up this FoRKposting
and that's where the real caller will come from, not the Globe :-)
