Actually, Britain may be the most secular state on the
planet. In a recent poll, 48% of the populace admitted
to no religion at all. Christians are a minority. The
Bishop of Canterbury complained that Britain has become
a nation of atheists.

'Tis true, of course, that Queen Elizabeth is officially
Defender of the Faith, just as she is officially monarch.
'Tis also true that both of these roles are nothing more
than pomp and entertainment.
