Is it really?  MS seems to be doing just fine with the latter.  I mean, why
should MS spend their own money to support all browser technology if that
comprises less than x% of their total hits?  To be honest, if I was paying a
web design company, and they spent more than 5 minutes making it Opera
compatible, I'd be pissed and wouldn't pay for that work.  If they want to do
that for free, on their own time, and it doesn't interfere with Explorer users,
fine.  Otherwise, I, and most companies deploying web aps could care less about
Opera compatibility.

Maybe a reasonable solution is to give MSN away for FREE to Explorer users
since they comprise an audiance large enough to sustain revenue from ads but to
CHARGE users of other browsers because their numbers are not large enough to
justify the development expense?
