*nod nod* Oh agreed, it does sometimes. But sometimes Wired hits the
beginning or middle of a wave, they are agressively hunting for new
material afterall.

O'Reilly and crew are aiming at that point where enough people will buy the
book or come to a conference. Making them a preaty much guarenteed
coffin-closer.

Hint: if there are enough people to come to a conference, it's already over.
This probably applies to email lists as well, if people are talking about
it, they either already have the patent, or dont see any profit in it.
