Of course. You can't expect anything written by a bronze
age culture to speak knowledgeably about what modern
science has revealed. Any application of ancient scriptures
to the modern world is going to require a lot of
interpretation. That is why the people who worship these
scriptures are dangerous, and why those who would
interpret them find such worship useful.
