I suppose I was overreacting. But I think way too many people in the US
like to pick on China for no good reason. Is China really that evil and
the current government has absolutely no merits? I left China in 78 and
went back for visit in 89, 94 and 98. Each time I saw dramatic progress
and I think the country is moving in the right direction both 
economically and politically. Of course, comparing to the US and Europe,
China still has much to catch up. But relative to where China was, it 
is not hard to see that in 10 years time, China may be just as democratic
a country as most US allies in Asia.
