> *laughs* What is the fish equivalent of apple pie? Salmon?

These days it is salmon. Another example of what changes modern
technology (in this case aquaculture) has wrougth on our society. When
I was a child, kids hated white fish with a vengance, these days they
hate pink fish.

Cod was the fish dominating my childhood: cod for dinner, dried cod for
snack (preferrably appropriated from the neighbour's barn), cod liver
oil for health and fishing cod for fun.

Then my parents moved south, to the core of apple growing Norway.
When you have had apple in your tomato-based spaghetti sauce, you have
had it all. And you yearn for fish, but the fish they have in the
south have been dead for hours before they serve it. Yuck.

BTW, if you live in a cold country, smiling to people waiting for the
bus could be dangerous - some get confused and slip on the ice, others
start talking to you about details in radar technology deployed on spy
ships in the Barents Sea. Did I say spy? I meant "research".
