While that does not explain Clinton's lack of spine, his lack of support
for her does not absolve the Right of their behavior in that incident.
Limbaugh and company twisted the statement "there is a link between
proportional representation and minority representation" into "she's a
quota queen".
In a better world, Clinton would had shown the country the lie the
Conservatives were spreading, and presented the thugs their own
(figurative) heads on silver platters.
And if we had Proportional Representation, the Republicans could purge
their ranks of the Taliban night school graduates, and the religous right
would be a 40 odd person minority in the Congress which the body politic
could crush under its boot heel. And we wouldn't be the laughing stock of
the Civilized World.
Once again, so much for the vaunted integrity of American Hezbola.
