Her definition _was_ right. My mom was a feminist (definition 1), thus I
have a huge number of skills I dont talk about or display because they are
"female only", of course I can also rebuild a carburator, so that's OK.
Feminists (def 1) rock, all my female friends are. But I think for the most
part they got what they wanted and now just need to be vigtalant and hold
the line, making sure congress doesnt screw over womens rights more then
they screw over everyone. Thus the def 1 feminists are now mostly lurkers,
and this definition has just been folded into the def of woman and for the
most part man too.
Thus.... the definition 2 feminists are the only ones making any noise.
Those are the ones that are scary. They completely ignore any hint of fact
or reality and wont be happy until women are men and get the same treatment,
even if we're completely different species following completely different
biological drives.
The reason I posted the article in the first place is that after years of
the media telling women they should act like men and focus on their career
till they get bored of that and decide to take a couple weeks off work to
have a kid in their 40's, put the kid in daycare and come home from work 18
years later expecting to find a kid not on drugs or in prison, people are
finally figuring out that doesnt work and the media is pushing back the
other way a bit.
The def 2 feminists are mad as hell about this book of course, since if
brings up a biological difference between men and women. And their anger is
what's so funny.
