Alleged FemiNazi quote ...

Lucas thought it was nonsense that a Feminist might suggest a woman not
be allowed to have a choice to be a home maker.

Though I suggested Sontag, a little poking around made it clear that I
had in mind Simone de Beauvoir. Although everything I found was
consistent with her making this statement, the actual statement has
remained elusive. I found direct quotes or information that she
believed it was immoral to be a housewife. I found references that she
though being a housewife made a woman less than human. I found
references that she was heavily influenced by Marxist thought. I found
references she thought the family should be abolished. I've read before
that she collaborated with the Nazis and wrote articles supporting them
but was shielded from retribution by her famous lover Sarte. (That
makes the term FemiNazi particularly appropriate).

But I didn't find a direct quote. I found people analyzing the
disagreement between her and another feminist to the effect Simone
didn't believe women should have the option while Betty F did. But no
quote. Frustrating.

The closest I came was the below reference which does have the text
marked in quotation marks but refers to an intermediary source for the
quote. Based on the title I'd be just a touch suspicious.

Under the proposed "New Matriarchy," women would not even have the
<choice> to stay home and raise children. As the "Mother of the
Neofeminist Movement," Simone de Beauvoir, puts it, "too many women
would
make the choice to stay at home and care for their children."[2]

That is as much as I came up with. I'm confident that if she didn't say
it she probably wished she had. But I've reached the limit regarding an
appropriate level of proof.

Take the quotes / information for what you will.
