Trent Lott's rascist associations were well known long before the scandal,
and it was clearly tolerated.  If you really need more counterexamples,
chart the number of right wing politicians who've kissed ass at Bob Jones

A massive group contains a lot of different opinions.  There's no way
around it.  If you insist on perfect social hygiene then you can't have
big gatherings at all.

The question here is why the right is so comfortable with redbaiting.  
Aren't you ashamed to be in such close proximity to it?
