FLASHPOINT #8: Kurdistan

I did in fact omit a likely Flashpoint:

FLASHPOINT #8:  While U.S. ground forces are engaged in a bloody and 
protracted door-to-door conflict in the cities of southern Iraq, Turkey 
moves en masse into northern Iraq to quell a Kurdish revolt there.  
Naturally aligned with Turkey in wanting to prevent the formation of a 
sovereign Kurdistan, Iran and Syria join with Turkey to mobilize forces 
along their borders and into northern Iraq to "stabilize" the area.  
U.S. takes a hard-line stance in the matter, demands Turkish / Syrian / 
Iranian withdrawal --- which they reject.  This heightens tensions 
between the U.S. and Turkey to the breaking point.  NATO fractures, 
Turkey withdraws from the alliance.  Then things get REALLY muddy...
