Here is a slide SCO showed supposedly illustrating copying of code
from System V into Linux:

The code originates from a trivial malloc() in Unix V6:

(Looks like it was written by Ken Thompson!)

The Linux code used a version of it in some PCI stuff for IA64
machines contributed by SGI.
