I'm so behind -- thanks for the recommendations.

Development machines need displays/keyboards if you're used to working
with IDEs, or if you want to test the software on a machine other than
the "productivity" system* that your employer wants you to use for
email, schedules, etc.


*  With Windows, you can destabilize your system by installing and
reinstalling pre-production software.  VMware is a major win for those
of us in working in Redmond's shadow.
