Last time I looked, Freerepublic-type sites were showing up quite a lot.
They're having real problems keeping propaganda and way-extremist stuff
out, as far as I can see.   I suspect coordinated write-in campaigns are
having an effect on this.   (so email them!)

Indymedia was taken off, if I recall correctly, due to a philosophical
problem in their design -- it's open policy, whereby any user can
post "news" about whatever they deem fit, and have it show up in the
"newswire".  A bit of moderation required, in my opinion.
