you'll have a hard time finding the source, as it'll be one of the big
MSPs, and they don't really like to have people know how spammers broke
their antispam systems. ;)

FWIW, I don't recall hearing this one from a solid source -- the first
time I heard of it, it was in a Slashdot comment.   It strikes me as an
easy jump from "here's an idea" to "oh yeah, spammers are doing this right
now".

The idea that copyright notices on captcha images will stop abuse, is
hilarious.  After all, it's not as if spammers aren't already breaking
federal law in other ways, a little copyright infringement is nothing. ;)
