Meanwhile, back here in the real world, Python as main language and C 
for the stuff that needs to go fast is rapidly looking to be the new way 
to get shit done. Perl is write-only, Java and C# are just as hard to 
maintain as C (and proprietary). Python gets you the rapid devel, C gets 
you the speed as that last step and is still as portable as the python.

It works.
