Apparently.

(The thing that gets my goat w/ Kindle is that, because Amazon's  
footing the bill for the EVDO access, I can't even transfer my own  
PDFs to the device w/o paying for it.  IMHO, that's a lot more  
egregious than the to-be-expected attempt at DRM.)
