For many thousands of years how we live has been dictated by, in
large part, the religious authorities. I would love to see this shown
to be not true in other than pointing out a few exceptions scattered
hither and yon.
In fact you can clearly see that in this very day and age the real and
definable connections form then to now is more than undeniable, it is
still in play over much more of the globe than many of us want to
admit.
If this were not the case would we be seeing a rape victim lashed 200
times becuase gods law requires it? Would we be seeing progroms,
cleansings and wholesale slaying of each other becuase of things like
celestial land claims, differences in how to praise an unseen figure
who lives in the sky or bragging rights over who is the favorite of
this unseen figure?
Yes I know it is a sad burlesque and try as we might we can not
intellect this horror show away. Many of us are trapped in the
nightmare of other peoples ideas of a loving god.
Sorry Lion, I would love to have another thing to call this so we did
not have to play pile on the true believers, but the nitty grit of the
issues we are seeing here are religious in nature. Let us lay the
problem where the problem stems.
