I'm also a big fan of Screwtape, Letters from the Earth, Paradise  
Lost, and yes --- even Narnia --- as must-read items for kids.

I'm no more worried about them turning Gnostic because of Pullman  
than I am about them turning Bible-thumper due to reading Narnia.
