I don't have the authority --- moral, religious, intellectual, or  
otherwise --- to issue any sort of "fatwah" against anything.  IMHO,  
nobody does.

What I am advocating against is the blanket deference traditionally  
given to religion.  That's it.  And I'm doing two things in  
response:  (1) refusing to give such deference, and (2) explaining  
that this is what I'm doing, and why.

Your response to this is your own get-out.

We don't need the crutches any more.  Throw them away completely.   
They are a carrier wave of memetic disease.
